About Liz

I develop grant proposals for nonprofit social service organizations, helping them secure the funding they need to execute strategies and launch innovative ideas that enrich individuals’ lives and our community.

When you include me in your team, you gain more than a skilled writer. You gain access to seventeen years of experience in grant development and strategy. Throughout my career, I have secured and retained more than $65 million in corporate, foundation, and government grants. Prior to launching my own grant writing business, I spent four years as Chief Development Officer of a social service organization, where I provided executive management of grants development, marketing and communications, special events, and donor relations. Today I work with non-profits of all shapes and sizes, helping them grow and thrive.

As a former Chief Development Officer, I understand the relief that comes from putting tasks into the capable hands of a colleague. With the right support, you can focus on organizational growth. That’s where I come in. You can plug me into your grant process wherever you need my expertise. I can guide grants development from beginning to end or simply take on one piece.

Prior to my time in the non-profit sector, I served as a writer and account manager for FrogDog, a marketing and communications firm, as well as a proofreader for the Texas Legislative Council. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University with a B.A. in English Literature and am a current member of the Grant Professionals Association.

I am a native Houstonian and grew up in Westbury. Today, I live in The Woodlands with my husband, two kids, and a beloved hamster named Nibbles. I miss the hustle and bustle near the Loop, but have fully embraced suburban life. I spend my free time reading and pretending I know how to garden.

“Liz Green is a top-notch grant writer. She is an excellent listener who takes the time to understand your organization. She then can write with a voice from the organization to make the right ask to each foundation. She is personable and very easy to work with. I highly recommend her.”
